M: +91-9914112335Ar. Manmohan Khanna, founder architect of Khanna Manmohan Associates (KMA architecture), Chandigarh, has an experience of over 45 years in the field of architecture and interior design.
After completing an undergraduate degree in architecture from Chandigarh College of Architecture (CCA) in 1976, he has been engaged in almost all types of building design as well as other related aspects of architecture ranging from interior design to urban planning.
He has been actively involved in teaching as visiting faculty in CCA since that time. Not only that, he also completed his research course in landscape architecture from CCA in 1987.
Having received several distinction awards for meritorious services to his clients, one of the prominent awards was in 1985 from a British Company.
Apart from that, he has always been keen in participating in several architecture design competitions for professionals. It was one such project when he bagged the national competition for design and development of a 18-hole Golf Course at Panchkula, Haryana in 2001. He was also the winner of architectural design competition for Mekastar Electronics Services Centre, New Delhi in 1992.
Ar. Khanna has always been an active participant in events related to architecture and has always maintained a close proximity to the architecture fraternity both in profession as well as education. He has been part of jury at various competitions and exhibitions. He focuses on imparting knowledge and experience to budding architects. To this effect, his roles include being a visiting professor at CCA, Chitkara School of Planning & Architecture, Manav Rachna University, Faridabad, INIFD, Punjab Technical University, Mohali, among others. He is also member of boards of education for Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar, and Chandigarh University.
Remarkably, he has served as the Chairman of the Indian Institute of Architects, Punjab & Chandigarh Chapters during 2012-2020, and as the Founder Chairman of the Institute of Indian Interior Designers (IIID), Chandigarh Chapter during 2015-2019.
Leading the fraternity of architects, he has been contributing professionally towards the city’s development as the Member of the Governor’s Administrative Advisory Council. He is also a member of The Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH).

Prof. Dr.P.S.N.Rao is a well known and eminent Urban development specialist. He is trained as an architect, engineer and Urban Planner and has a work experience of over 35 years. He held important positions such as Chairman, Delhi Urban Art Commission, Government of India, Chairman, All India Board of Town & Country Planning of AICTE, Chairman, Institute of Town Planners India ( Delhi Chapter ) and Director, SPA Delhi. He was also Member, Advisory Council of the DDA. Presently, He is Member, High Level Committee on Urban Planning, MoHUA, Government of India. He has a large number of publications to his credit. He was the Architect for designing ‘ Sadaiv Atal’, memorial for Hon’ble Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Bharat Ratna, Former Prime Minister of India.
Anand Sharma is a B.Arch (Hons) graduate from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, and a co-founder at Design Forum International. He believes in practicing socially inclusive architecture and has coined the term “People First”, which became one of the guiding principles of the practice.
Over the last 25 years, Anand has been instrumental in the firm’s journey of being a part of ‘Nation-Building’ across the country. He has worked across diverse project typologies, where he leverages his expertise in architecture, engineering and construction to provide unique, and efficient design solutions. He has played a key role in leading large scale commercial projects such as the Select City Walk Mall (Delhi) and Guwahati City Centre, the largest retail mall in Guwahati. He has also worked on multiple competitions for civic infrastructure developments, including Dakshineswar Skywalk (Kolkata), ITO Foot over Bridge (New Delhi), and the upcoming Sainik School (Gorakhpur, UP), among others, and is currently leading the New Integrated Terminal Building (NITB) at the Guwahati International Airport, and the Bihta Airport (Bihar) and Amritsar Railway Station (Punjab), modelled on the ideas of environment-conscious and human-centric design. Through projects such as Gulf Adiba (Gurugram) and the ongoing Amtron (Bongora, Assam), Anand is taking concrete steps toward re-envisioning traditional workplaces.
Anand is also the Co-Chair at PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s new people-driven initiative ‘Reinvigorating Urban Identity in Indian Cities’. He has participated as a keynote speaker at various events, sharing his experience and observations on BIM, and frequently addresses architectural and real estate issues. Anand has been felicitated by highly respectable personalities of India such as Padma Bhushan Shri Rajeev Sethi at the IndeXcellence Awards Ceremony. In 2021, he and his other co-founders at DFI were named amongst India’s ‘Top 30 Architects’ by Forbes India.
Goonmeet Singh Chauhan is an architect, urbanist, author and a futurist with boundless enthusiasm to push the frontiers of possibility and bring forth ‘Newness’ that is both ‘Delightful’ and ‘Useful’ into all that he does. As the Founding partner at DFI, he believes in an architecture that is unshackled by ‘isms’. He underpins a contemporary, green architecture that belongs to its people and its place, where urban aesthetics, city skylines and streetscapes present a coherent contextual visual character that are delightful physical portraits of cultures and times. A firm believer in the “People First” approach to design, Goonmeet channels his creativity into providing innovative solutions for the ‘Reformation of City Architecture’.
Goonmeet has worked on several large-scale projects that have become landmarks across major cities pan-India. He has contributed towards the “Nation Building” process through public projects pan-India, such as Vanijya Bhawan (New Delhi), Ministry of Commerce for the Government of India, NIT Delhi, Jammu and Kashmir High Court, Delhi High Court, Kaushal Bhawan (New Delhi), Amritsar Railway Station, Trivandrum Railway Station, Multi-Modal Logistics and Transport Hub (Dadri), and the Delhi Cycle Walk.
In 2021, Goonmeet and his other co-founders at DFI were named amongst India’s ‘Top 30 Architects’ by Forbes India. He has won many accolades for his works including, the Outstanding Papers and Design Works at UIA Seoul Congress in 2017 and the IndeXcellence Awards in 2019. He has spoken at various events such as the One Hundred Years — Reimagining Delhi event organized by GREHA in 2018. In addition, Goonmeet has participated in multiple virtual talks and roundtables across platforms, including The Print, SSMB Magazine, and Surfaces Reporter. He is also a frequent contributor to magazines and newspapers such as Architecture + Design, the Indian Express, Times Property, and the Economic Times, where he shares his insights on various urban issues close to his heart.
Architect Habeeb Khan, graduated in architecture from VNIT (formerly VRCE) and went to the USA, where he completed his masters in architectural design from University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. After his masters degree he worked in Philadelphia, coordinating major retail design projects for retail giants across the world.
He returned to India in 1990 and started his own private practice. He was awarded the JIIA best interior Design award by the Indian Institute of Architects in 1998 and IIA-KAFF young architects award in 2000. He was also awarded the Orange City Achievement award in 2009 and State level excellence in architecture and education award by the IIA Maharashtra Chapter in 2011. Recently he and Smita were awarded the prestigious INTBAU award 2018 for large scale promotion of traditional and vernacular architecture in the world. INTBAU is an organisation promoted by HRH Prince Charles and their JD campus project was awarded the excellence award in the new building category.
Architecture to him is a passion, total commitment and something to enjoy and indulge in. He is fiercely committed to architecture being contextual and relevant. He believes that architecture shall be responsive to traditions, climate, context and be environmentally and ecologically responsible. His architecture is organic, traditional, contextual and contemporary. His architectural practice Smita & Habeeb Khan Architects, mostly deals with campus designs, institutions and wildlife resorts. He has worked with major hospitality groups like Taj, Citrus, Mahua and Celebrations and few major campuses in central India.
Habeeb has been invited to many national and international conferences as keynote speaker. Some of the few are IIA NATCON 2009, Nagpur and 2012 in Raipur, IIID NATCON at Goa 2008, Kolhapur 2014 and Indore2015, Chitale Endowment lecture Anna University Chennai,and the IIID Design Yatra in about 12 cities. He was also invited to speak at international conferences of IAPS, Glasgow 2012, Degrowth 2012 Venice and Degrowth 2016 Budapest.
Architect Habeeb Khan is also involved in teaching since the beginning of his career. He has been taking guest lectures and engaging design studios in architectural colleges all over the country, apart from juries and examinations. He is currently the Director at Priyadarshini Institute of Architecture and Design Studies (PIADS), Nagpur, and Lokmanya Tilak Institute of Architecture & Design Studies (LTIADS), Mumbai. His Design teaching revolves around sensitizing students towards their own heritage and roots, context and climate within the frame work of being contemporary. Habeeb has actively been working with the Govt. of Maharashtra on few policy framing guidelines. He has also been nominated by the Govt. of Maharashtra, on the Council of Architecture. He is the former President of the Council of Architecture.
Habeeb is an avid painter and has exhibited his paintings on Mahabharata, Ramayan and Kabir. He also dabbles in poetry and has written songs for IIID Natcon Indore, Design Yatra and IIA centenary anthem and the theme song for “Beti-Bachao-Beti Padhao” campaign.
Kapil Aggarwal earned his B.Arch. in 1996 from MIT in Manipal and worked in architectural firms for three years. He has always had a passion for the fine arts and sees his undertakings as extensions of his work. His newly refurbished home is a representation of who he is, with each room being treated as a canvas frame.
Twelve of his 50+ national and international AWARDS come from the Institute of Interior Designers (IIID). 2nd Position (Highly commended) in 2022 World Architecture Festival – Future project and the architect’s own office was a finalist in the office category of the 2014 World Inside Festival.
Numerous awards have been given to our landmark project, Haveli Dharampura, including the Forbes Design Award (only firm in Delhi) for Best Conservation and Restoration Project, Asia Pacific Heritage Project of UNESCO.
We were also the only Asian company to get a US International Award in the Merit Category at Design share 2008 for our project, Adharshila Vatika. Along with the NDTV Awards, IIA Awards, and also, the Architecture Digest AD50, the 50 Most Influential Names in Architecture and Design for 2015, Spaces Architects @ka has also received recognition.

Architect Surinder Bahga has established architectural organisation “Saakaar Foundation” in Chandigarh.
His works are published in many journals and newspapers of repute. Two of his Churches were exhibited at the 5th Asian Congress of Architects, held at Lahore in Pakistan. His work was exhibited at Archifest Exhibition organised by Singapore Institute of Architects. Mr. Bahga was given Sir M. Visveswaraya Award in 1995 by HUDCO for energy-efficient housing design. His Baptist Church at Chandigarh is selected by Ministry of Non-Conventional Energy Sources and TERI as one of the best 41 energy-efficient buildings in India. He got Michael Ventris Award from Architectural Association, London. Police Memorial, Jammu designed by Mr. Bahga got Outstanding Concrete Structure Award from Indian Concrete Institute.
He has co-authored three books namely “Modern Architecture in India: Post Independence Perspective”, “New Indian Homes” and “Le Corbusier & Pierre Jeanneret: Footprints on the Sands of Indian Architecture.” He has researched on a travelling exhibition “A Dream Realized” on life and works of Le Corbusier & Pierre Jeanneret for Swiss Arts Council. He worked as Co-Editor of Conference Proceedings of “Urbanism and Green Architecture” held at NIT, Hamirpur in 2010, “Contemporary Architecture: Beyond Corbusierism” – in 2011, NICHE-2014 and Re-Discovering Cities-2015.
He worked as Chairman of IIA, Chandigarh-Punjab Chapter for two terms (2008-2012). He worked as Chairman of IIA Publication Board and Editor of Journal of Indian Institute of Architects from January 2013 to May, 2015. He had been nominated as Councillor in Chandigarh Municipal Corporation for the term 2012-16. He worked as member of high powered Finance & Contract Committee of Chandigarh Municipal Corporation. He was Chairman of Chandigarh Municipal Corporation’s Committee for “Buildings & Roads”. Currently, he is member of Advisory Committee of India’s Home Minister on Union Territories. He has been appointed as member of Chandigarh Housing Board for the term 2021 to 2024. Recently he has been appointed as President of Chandigarh Chapter of FSAI and Chairman of GEM Punjab Chapter.
• Dr. Sangeeta Bagga Mehta is Professor at Chandigarh College of Architecture, Chandigarh, and also the first woman Principal of the CCA. An alumina of CCA, she is an urban designer from SPA New Delhi and a PhD from Panjab University, Chandigarh with a special interest in the conservation of modern heritage buildings and ensembles. She has conducted multiple collaborative student workshops with universities including the Bezalel University of Art & Design (Israel), the Carnegie Mellon University, the University of Wisconsin -Milwaukee, USA and the Technical University at Delft (Netherlands), University of Brisbane, Queensland. Her work and these collaborations are centered on the examination of urban landscapes, environmental design and social issues within Chandigarh.
• A Project on Interpreting Geometries–A Documentation and Decoding of the Historic Floors of the Rashtrapati Bhavan, New Delhi, INDIA has been published on 31.3.2022 and Volume2 is underway.
• Counselor of National Scientific Committee on 20th century heritage- COMOS India from 2017-2020, Jury Member and panelist for the Urban Edge Prize seminar, University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee 2015, and thereafter co-curator of the Urban Edge Exhibition on the Urban Villages within and around Chandigarh, exhibited at the Alliance Francaise, Chandigarh. An outcome of the exercise is the book ‘Chandigarh Rethink’ on the city’s natural and manmade edges.
• Consultant to Panjab University, Chandigarh appointed by Vice-Chancellor, Getty Trust Project 2015 for the Gandhi Bhawan under category ‘Keeping it Modern’ for the first time to modern building in Chandigarh.
• She is also juror to the Berkeley Student Essay Prize, University of Berkeley, USA, since 2012.
• In June 2019, she completed a week long residency on Pierre Jeanneret at Canadian Centre for Architecture, Montreal, Canada engaging in revisiting the archival works of master architect within and outside Chandigarh from over 700 documents, images, maps and photographs at the archives.
• Spearheading, the Masters in Architecture programme at Chandigarh College of Architecture (2018), Dr Mehta engages in studios, summer–winter schools, and co-curricular activities with equal passion of which the latest has been the RIBA Presidents Medal exhibition and Symposium hosted at CCA in September, 2019, followed by launch of the capacity building institutional the Pierre Jeanneret Le Corbusier Forum in 2021.
• Spearheading the Institutional Consultancy in CCA since 2019, Dr. Mehta has successfully led the teams for Northern Railway Stations augmentation, Accessible India Campaign Audit for Chandigarh, Gram Panchayat Plans for Haryana under Ministry of Panchayati Raj (MoPR), GoI and Preparation of State of Conservation Report for UNESCO World Heritage Site Capitol Complex, Chandigarh.
